SMOKEYEYE

So this is my first ever blog post (be easy on me!) I know how infuriating it can be when you see someone wearing an outfit you want, or a make up look you'd love to try but not knowing where the hell to start looking for the products. The purpose of all my posts will be to give you the information, pros and cons of products i use clothing i buy and my fitness regime, now the boring bit is over i finally can start.

We all have that one favourite smokey eye and every Saturday my friends and boyfriend can gaurentee how i'm going to turn up to our date. All the eyeshadows i use to achieve this look are MAC; Rule, Swiss Chocolate, Embark and a Pigment Pot in Vanilla. Firstly Mac eyeshadows are the bomb they are easy to blend and long lasting, i wake up the next morning after a drunken night out with it all still perfectly applied. When buying these products you will probably be thinking OMG Rule is going to look awful Swiss Chocolate and Embark look the same this is a waste of money, don't panic, i thought exactly the same.

I apply Rule first to the majority of my eye avoiding the lid and brow bone i love this colour and sometimes wear it just with Vanilla Pigmant pot. It adds a warm tone to my smokey look which i like. I then add Swiss Chocolate to the same area blending as much as i can at the same time making sure rule is still visible. Lastly for the smoke i use Embark right in the crease of my lid this is the darkest colour. Then for my lid, i use a Pigment Pot in shade Vanilla. These things are unreal, they are so light and sparkly which goes really well with this look as all the other colours are matte finish. If there's one thing i can advise when applying a pigment is deffinetly use a paint pot underneath i use Layin' Low you can cover your whole eye with this colour as it is a nude tone, which is what i do after my foundation.

It makes the pigment stick (and its prolong-wear) as the texture of it is exactly like some what way glitter. I'm forever knocking them over and if you have nieces anything like mine keep them out of sight! They're below the £20 mark and last forever. I'm not good when it comes to make up brushes i really need to invest in some more. I use one brush for this look which is out of the Naked pallets by Urban Decay, i swear by this brush!

For the final touches, i use Mac Fluid Line eyeliner in colour Black Track applied with an angled brush which you can get from any make up store, along with 141 eyelashes by Eyelure, and a Rimmel pencil eyeliner in intense black.
A few handy tips: all Mac products are expensive, i know. The good thing with them is they last. When buying your eyeshadows by a 4 shadow pallet that way you will save money and can add an extra colour, which personally i would add Carbon to this look, but only if your confident on blending cause black can be tricky and stubborn! All the products i have added the website link. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I will soon start to add step by step videos/pictures.
Thankyou Elle x

  1. Post a video soon! Or maybe step by step photos? I'm rubbish at eyeshadow application and blending, just can't seem to get the hang of it! Would love to see some more posts, perhaps about hairstyle? Or even outfits!
